Trevor Overcash was born into a Christian family that was and continues to be involved in full-time Christian service. That influence was instrumental in his desire to dedicate his life to Christian ministry as well. Since graduation from Tennessee Temple University, Trevor has been involved in Christian service and discipleship ministries at his local church.
Lori Thomas was born and raised in a Christian home in Bryson City, NC. She became a Christian at the age of 8. During high school, Lori felt God's call to surrender her life to full-time service. Although she was uncertain what this would involve, she began to prepare by enrolling in Tennessee Temple University.
It was at TTU that Trevor and Lori met and they were married the summer following Lori's graduation. God used a trip to India in 2004 to burden their hearts for new believers in Christ and for the untrained and ill-equipped pastors who are doing their best to shepherd them. They realized that the best way to help new believers would be to equip local pastors with training and tools that would help them study the Bible, preach biblical messages and disciple their people.
God used that burden to lead them in partnership with Larry and Nancy Malone to begin Hope and Help International. This ministry is working to equip, train, provide resources and support to national missionaries so that their effectiveness is increased in planting and establishing churches in India.
Trevor serves on the advisory council of Hope and Help and is actively involved in curriculum development for the Timothy Leadership Institute. He is also a TLI instructor. Lori is working full-time in the Hope and Help office and leads ministry trips to India each year.
Trevor and Lori have one daughter, Stephanie, who is a freshman at Grace Baptist Academy. She has been to India twice and is looking forward to her next opportunity to return to work with slum children.
