Mariyamma Namuburi is 75 years old and she has been a widow for 10 years. She has a son and a daughter. Mariyamma and her busband both worked as day laborers, looking for odd jobs daily. Their meager income did not allow them to educate their children. So today, Mariyamma's children are also day laborers, without steady income. Both are struggling to provide for their own families and do not have the resources to care for their mother. She was living on the streets and depending on the kindness of passersby as she begged for a little money. Today she is living at Krupa Home and is happy that she has found a place where she can spend her last years in comfort.

Annapurna Yallamandala is a 77-year-old woman who has been a widow for only about a year. Unfortunately she has no children so there is no one to turn to now that she is alone. She is too weak and sickly to work so she cannot support herself. Her brothers and sisters are also poor and elderly and have a hard time caring for their own needs. She was begging on the streets, asking for food just so she could survive. She met someone who knew of the ministry of Krupa Home so she came for help.
