National Pastors Frequently Asked Questions
Nationals-FAQ

Q. What are the qualifications of HHI missionaries?
A. These men need to have made a profession of faith and consistently demonstrate a personal relationship with Christ. They must be actively involved in ministry in the local church. The must either be currently enrolled in or a graduate of our Timothy Leadership Institute.

Q. Are HHI missionaries focusing only on evangelism?
A. Evangelism is an important part of what our missionaries do, but in fulfilling the Great Commission, they are also involved in discipleship programs. Their goal is to develop leaders who can be sent out by their local church and plant new churches in unreached areas. Missionaries are also involved in showing the love of Christ to the needy, by assisting with aid to orphans, widows and providing help in times of natural disasters.

Q. What is HHI doing to encourage the local church to be responsible for supporting its own pastor and missionaries?
A. Hope and Help seeks to help missionaries in their ministries without creating an atmosphere of dependency on outside help. Missionary sponsorship lasts for a period of five years on a decreasing scale. HHI missionaries are taught that God’s method of supplying for his church and its pastor is through the tithes and offerings given by the congregation. As the support from HHI decreases, it is expected that support from the church itself should increase to the point that outside funds are no longer needed.

Q. What are the advantages in partnering with national missionaries?
A. National missionaries are already in the village, familiar with the culture, speaking the language, and ready to start immediately! They are accustomed to living on the level of the people they are ministering to.

Q. If I were to decide to support a missionary through HHI, how would my support help?
A. Your support is critically important to a missionary! Full support of a missionary is $84 per month or you can become a co-sponsor for $42 monthly. Your support would enable a missionary to dedicate himself to his ministry full-time; he would not have to work a secular job to support his family. This amount provides for education for his children, establishes a medical fund for use as needs arise, and helps contribute toward the building or maintenance of a church building for his congregation.
