Itinerary

1

You will fly out of Atlanta and arrive in Thessaloniki where we will stay the night. We will have dinner together and get plenty of rest for our life-changing adventures.

2

Arrive in Thessaloniki where we will stay for 3 nights. Thessaloniki is on the coast of the Aegean Sea. Paul presented the gospel and wrote two letters to the church in that city.

3

On our drive to the ruins at Philippi, we will talk about Acts on the bus. Philippi is another place Paul visited, wrote a letter to and was put in prison. In the ruins of the theatre, we will go over this letter together. Dinner and overnight at our hotel in Thessaloniki.

4

We will tour the city of Thessaloniki and study 1 & 2 Thessalonians together. Then we go to Berea/Veria where, Acts tells us, Paul established another church. We will view the reconstructed steps of the bema there and study together some of Acts.Another site on our tour today is in the modern town of Vergina. We will see the excavations of two tombs—Philip of Macedon (father of Alexander the Great) and Alexander’s son. Finally, we will return to Thessaloniki for dinner and our overnight stay.

5

We will enjoy a train ride from Thessaloniki to Athens! Arrive in Athens, where we will stay for three nights, transfer to our hotel, dinner and stay overnight.

6

Athens city sightseeing includes a visit to the world-renowned Acropolis, with the ruins of the Parthenon, Erechteum and Propylea. Then, we ascend Mars Hill (the Areopagus) where Paul preached. We will look more at Acts 17 to understand what Paul saw and did in Athens. The afternoon is free time to explore Athens. We will have dinner and stay overnight at our hotel.

7

After breakfast we will depart for Corinth where Paul stayed for 18 months. We will stop at the Corinth Canal, which separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland and connects the Ionian and Aegean Seas. Our visit includes the Archaeological Museum, the bema, the Market Place and the temples. Acts 18 and Paul’s two letters to Corinth are our study today. Dinner and overnight in Athens.

8

Today we begin our cruise for three days and nights. We transfer from our Athens hotel to the port for embarkation on our cruise ship. Enjoy lunch and the many shipboard activities or just relax while sailing to the Island of Mykonos with its whitewashed buildings, sidewalk cafes, 360 churches and chic shops!

9

In the morning we will arrive in the ruins of Ephesus where Paul spent at least three years preaching and teaching on his third missionary journey. He also wrote a letter to the believers here. We will look over that letter in the ruins of a theatre.

10

Then we sail to the Island of Patmos and visit the cave where it is believed that John wrote the Revelation. Lunch, dinner and overnight on the ship.

11

After breakfast on our ship, we will disembark and transfer to the Athens airport to fly back to Atlanta, GA.
